I guess it'd be useless to complain about the heat. I never would have thought this place could get so hot down here but it's getting bad. I'm a little worried about how this will affect the medbay.

Tachibana, Marui - if you two don't mind, would it be possible for me to grab some things from the kitchens? I'm thinking it'd be good to have some electrolyte solutions made up so that we're ready for anyone who starts showing signs of dehydration and heat sickness.

I hope everything on that expedition is going well. Other than Hiyoshi's incident, it's been quiet here which has been a minor miracle since we're down almost half of our medical staff.

I was surprised when I got the new communication update. Normally it's my mom with a whole bunch of random little things. Seeing my brother this time around was a nice change. Turns out there's been a bunch of really good things that have been happening to him but the biggest thing is that he's going to be a dad soon.

There's some other stuff too but that's the one thing that I can't get over. It's so wild to me to think that he's going to have a kid.

I've been so busy that I've completely forgotten about checking and posting on these things. The whole mission, getting back and immediately getting pulled into work, and then getting sick myself.

I put in for a few days off since I never got my post-mission break. If anyone needs me, don't. Unless it's for something fun and relaxing.

Huh. Each time I get the news from home messages, they're usually silly things. Like they got new neighbors or that my cousin's getting married, or that her wedding was absolutely gorgeous. This time feels different. My dad's decided he's finally going to retire at the end of the school year. It's just kind of weird to think about.

And my mother would NOT shut up about this new author she found. I don't know who this Yu Murasaki is but she would not stop talking about the person's books.

I don't think I've ever been happier to see a fully functional medbay. Thank you to the engineering team for all their hard work and the improvements that were made.

Whoever made the mess in the storage bay, can you please clean it up? I went in there to get some things to restock the medbay and found dried paint all over the place.

Is it bad that I almost wish I'd been picked for this next set of missions? It sounds interesting and getting to camp for a few weeks sounds just like my sort of thing.

I finally got news from home and my mom continues her quest to share every little piece of gossip she can. But there was one bit of extra important, super big news she absolutely had to make sure I knew.

Jirou, Gakuto, did you two know that you left after me and should be arriving here soon? Because my mom practically blew out my eardrums in her video message in order to make sure I knew that.

Why?

Jirou, whatever you did to the bot, make it stop. This thing has been following me all day. And I know it's the same one. It's got a blue mark on the side and it's followed me from the gym to my room to the medbay.

In other news: anyone else know how to shake a bot that won't leave you alone? Because this is annoying.

First aid class

For those heading out on the upcoming missions, I've been volunteered to lead a basic first aid course. If you're interested in attending this, just let me know. Once I have an idea of how many are interested and who they are, I'll figure out a time.

Nothing too fancy but it'll cover how to handle basic, common injuries and what to do if there's something more serious too. You know, in the whole interest of keeping people alive and coming back without any missing limbs.
